Reiki
Reiki is a complementary therapy which works through the transfer of universal energy from the practitioner’s palms to the client. Energy can stagnate in the body where there has been physical injury or even emotional pain. In time, these energy blocks can cause illness. Reiki treatment involves helping the flow of energy to remove these blocks, promoting whole body wellness.
At Synchronicity we offer Usui Reiki which can be considered the original form of Reiki healing.
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy healing practice that supports the body’s natural ability to restore balance and wellbeing. Originating in Japan, Reiki works on the physical, emotional, mental and energetic levels, helping to calm the nervous system and encourage deep relaxation.
During a Reiki session, healing energy is channelled through light touch or hands held just above the body. Many people experience a sense of peace, warmth, or clarity, while others simply enjoy feeling deeply rested and held.
Reiki does not replace medical treatment, but it can work beautifully alongside it, supporting stress reduction, emotional release, and a greater sense of connection to yourself. Each session is unique, offering exactly what is needed in that moment.
Frequently Asked Questions
What Is Reiki?
Anti-wrinkle injections, also known as ‘Botox®’, or botulinum toxin, are naturally-occurring proteins that work to block nerve signals at the injection point. As signals from the nerves to the muscles in the face are stopped, the injected muscle will no longer be able to contract as tightly, causing wrinkles to relax and soften.
What Happens During A Session?
Perfect for the forehead lines, frown lines, crow’s feet, bunny lines and the chin, as well as smoker’s lines and skin ageing of the neck, anti-wrinkle injections can take years off of your face, enhancing your natural beauty.
Are There Any Side Effects?
During the treatment a topical anaesthetic is used to minimise discomfort. There may be a slight stinging feeling as the toxin is injected, but this only lasts a few seconds.
After your treatment a small amount of swelling or bruising at the injection points is possible. You may also experience some tenderness for 24-72 hours.
Normal side effects include small amounts of swelling, bruising, redness and soreness. Most of these will subside after a couple of days and be gone within ten. If you are still experiencing problems after ten days you should contact us for advice.
How Long Do The Results Last?
The first time you have anti-wrinkle injections, you can expect the results to last for between three and six months. Results vary depending on how well you look after your skin, as well as your skin type and the severity of the wrinkles you’ve had treated.
Using anti-wrinkle injections regularly can increase the amount of time that the effects last for. Because it freezes the muscles, over time these muscles will become shorter and smaller. This can often mean that, if you have your treatment repeated regularly, you start to need fewer treatments with greater time spans between them.
When you’re thinking about how long anti-wrinkle injections last, it’s important to consider how many times you’ve been treated, as well as other influencing factors. Younger people with less depth to their wrinkles will usually have longer lasting results than those with deeper wrinkles and less elastic skin.
