Reflexology
Reflexology is a deeply relaxing holistic therapy that works through gentle pressure on specific points of the feet, which correspond to different areas of the body. By stimulating these reflex points, reflexology supports balance within the body and encourages its natural healing processes.
Many people find reflexology helps to reduce stress, ease tension, and promote a sense of overall wellbeing. Treatments are both grounding and nurturing, offering time to slow down, rest, and reconnect with yourself.
Frequently Asked Questions
What Does a Skin Peel Do?
Chemical Peels can de designed to treat a wide range of concerns, but essentially all peels work by using acids to exfoliate dead cells from the top layer of skin and stimulate production of new cells. This has the effect of reducing fine lines, pigmentation and blemishes resulting in smoother, younger looking skin. Peels can be administered in increasing levels of strength to work deeper into the skin depending on what effect is required.
What Acids Are Used?
A range of different acids can be used to achieve different results, some of the most common are:
Glycolic Acid – Exfoliates skin & reduces pigment
Salicylic Acid – Cleans out pores & reduces oil on skin
Lactic Acid – Brightens skin
Mandelic Acid – Exfoliates skin & speeds up cell turnover
Ascorbic Acid – Brightens & strengthens skin
Many peels also contain other active ingredients such as plant stem cells and vitamins.
Does It Hurt To Have a Skin Peel Treatment?
No, you shouldn’t feel pain whilst having a skin peel. Your skin may feel hot or itchy when the active ingredients are applied but this sensation is normal and won’t last for more than a few minutes. If the treatment feels very uncomfortable your practitioner can stop it at any time with neutralising solution.
Will My Skin Be Red Afterwards?
Maybe. Because the peel ingredients are activated on the skin you may find that you leave clinic looking a little pinker than usual but this varies from person to person and depends on the strength of the treatment. Generally any pinkness/redness can be covered with mineral make-up.
Will A Skin Peel Make My Skin More Sensitive?
No, in fact regular treatment will help to strengthen sensitive skin.
How Many Treatments Should I Have?
Everyone’s skin will respond differently to treatment and the type of treatment recommended will depend on the desired outcome. But for optimal results we recommend committing to a course of 3-6 treatments. Depending on the strength of the peel these can be spaced 2-6 weeks apart. Our skin experts will be able to design a treatment plan for you to help achieve your skin goals.
